Samsung oven symbols

Check your manual — models differ. Two Samsung ovens can carry different sets of symbols, and the same drawing can mean different things on different brands; only your model’s manual says exactly which elements run and how hot.
Read this first
Samsung’s support page shows its oven modes as button icons, and they are the familiar drawings: lines for elements, a fan in a circle, a zigzag for the grill. The word to watch is Convection: on a Samsung it is the fan oven, while Smeg uses “convection” for the fan-free top and bottom heat, so go by the drawing. Samsung also notes that its Eco Convection mode is the one used to rate the oven’s energy class under EN 60350-1. Every confirmation here comes from Samsung Australia’s support page on cooking modes.

Top and bottom heat (conventional)
Samsung calls it “Conventional”.
