Montpellier oven symbols

9 symbols that Montpellier itself documents, each in our own drawing, with the Montpellier name for the mode next to ours. Tap a symbol for what it does, where makes differ and every source.

Check your manual — models differ. Two Montpellier ovens can carry different sets of symbols, and the same drawing can mean different things on different brands; only your model’s manual says exactly which elements run and how hot.

Montpellier’s names are easy to mix up: “Convection” is the true fan oven (a fan in a circle), while “Conventional” is top and bottom heat with no fan. It tells its two grills apart by one extra line: “Double grill” draws a straight line above the zigzag, “Single grill” the zigzag alone. Its Defrost is a bare fan with no snowflake. The manual checked is for the MMFSO70SS multi-function single oven; its ECO setting (a fan between two lines, marked E) is gentle top and bottom heat, not the eco fan mode on this site, so it is left off.

Not listed for Montpellier

The Montpellier sources checked here do not show these symbols from this site, so they are left off this page: Fan with bottom heat, Pizza, Intensive heat, Slow cook, Eco fan, Plate warming, Keep warm, Reheat, Dough proving, Steam or added steam, Fast preheat, Pyrolytic self-cleaning, Steam cleaning, Child lock, Timer or minute minder, Alarm, Bread baking, Top heat only. That does not mean no Montpellier oven has them — only that no Montpellier manual or support page cited here confirms the drawing. If your oven shows one, see all oven symbols by shape.
