Fisher & Paykel oven symbols
7 symbols that Fisher & Paykel itself documents, each in our own drawing, with the Fisher & Paykel name for the mode next to ours. Tap a symbol for what it does, where makes differ and every source.
Check your manual — models differ. Two Fisher & Paykel ovens can carry different sets of symbols, and the same drawing can mean different things on different brands; only your model’s manual says exactly which elements run and how hot.

Fisher & Paykel, a New Zealand maker, uses names that trip people up: “Bake” is the plain top-and-bottom setting with no fan, “Fan Bake” adds the fan to those two elements, and “Fan Forced” is the true fan oven. The guide checked covers its UK and Irish OB60 single and double ovens. Their Warm setting has two different drawings and is left out below because no page on this site matches them.
The 7 symbols
Top and bottom heat (conventional)
Fisher & Paykel calls it “Bake”.
Confirmed by:
- Fisher & Paykel — Built-in oven user guide for GB and IE, models OB60BCEX, OB60B77CEX and OB60DDEX (591936A), checked 2026-10-09: “Bake”: a line at the top and one at the bottom, no fan; the traditional method, best on one shelf at a time, for large cakes and dishes that bake for several hours.
Fan oven (hot air, true fan)
Fisher & Paykel calls it “Fan Forced”.
Confirmed by:
- Fisher & Paykel — Built-in oven user guide for GB and IE, models OB60BCEX, OB60B77CEX and OB60DDEX (591936A), checked 2026-10-09: “Fan Forced”: a fan in a circle; for multi-shelf cooking, with a consistent temperature so cakes rise well and meat browns while staying juicy.
Fan with top and bottom heat (fan-assisted)
Fisher & Paykel calls it “Fan Bake”.
Confirmed by:
- Fisher & Paykel — Built-in oven user guide for GB and IE, models OB60BCEX, OB60B77CEX and OB60DDEX (591936A), checked 2026-10-09: “Fan Bake”: a fan between a top and a bottom line; for dishes such as lasagne that need to brown on top, and single trays of small cakes or biscuits that bake in under an hour.
Full grill
Fisher & Paykel calls it “Grill”.
Confirmed by:
- Fisher & Paykel — Built-in oven user guide for GB and IE, models OB60BCEX, OB60B77CEX and OB60DDEX (591936A), checked 2026-10-09: “Grill”: a zigzag along the top; use with the door closed and at no more than 225 °C, on the top shelf for quick browning such as toast.

Fisher & Paykel calls it “Fan Grill”.
Confirmed by:
- Fisher & Paykel — Built-in oven user guide for GB and IE, models OB60BCEX, OB60B77CEX and OB60DDEX (591936A), checked 2026-10-09: “Fan Grill”: a zigzag along the top with a fan under it; use with the door closed and at no more than 220 °C, for tender cuts of meat and poultry, on a low shelf for a whole chicken.

Not listed for Fisher & Paykel
The Fisher & Paykel sources checked here do not show these symbols from this site, so they are left off this page: Bottom heat, Fan with bottom heat, Pizza, Centre or half grill, Intensive heat, Slow cook, Eco fan, Plate warming, Keep warm, Reheat, Dough proving, Steam or added steam, Fast preheat, Pyrolytic self-cleaning, Steam cleaning, Child lock, Timer or minute minder, Alarm, Bread baking, Top heat only. That does not mean no Fisher & Paykel oven has them — only that no Fisher & Paykel manual or support page cited here confirms the drawing. If your oven shows one, see all oven symbols by shape.
