Caple oven symbols
9 symbols that Caple itself documents, each in our own drawing, with the Caple name for the mode next to ours. Tap a symbol for what it does, where makes differ and every source.
Check your manual — models differ. Two Caple ovens can carry different sets of symbols, and the same drawing can mean different things on different brands; only your model’s manual says exactly which elements run and how hot.

Caple, a British maker based in Bristol, puts “Turbo” in front of a name when the fan is added: Conventional is the fan-free top and bottom heat, Turbo Conventional adds the fan, and Turbo Grill is the fan grill. Its “Eco Grill” is the centre grill for small amounts, not an energy-saving fan mode. The manual checked is for the C2601 Sense Premium touch-screen oven; its Fan Heat & Grill drawing (a zigzag over a fan in a circle) has no page here yet, its Dehydrate, Warm and Warm+ drawings (short upright lines) match no drawing on this site, and its Slow, Roast, Pizza and self-cleaning buttons are words rather than drawings, so all of these are left off.
The 9 symbols

- Caple — C2601 Sense Premium single oven instruction manual (Oven functions, pp. 47–48), checked 2026-10-15: “Conventional”: a line at the top and one at the bottom; top and bottom elements together with no fan, for baking on one shelf only.

Caple calls it “Fan Heat”.
Confirmed by:
- Caple — C2601 Sense Premium single oven instruction manual (Oven functions, pp. 47–48), checked 2026-10-15: “Fan Heat”: a fan inside a circle; the fan and the circular element work together for the most even air distribution, for meat, fish and pastries.

Confirmed by:
- Caple — C2601 Sense Premium single oven instruction manual (Oven functions, pp. 47–48), checked 2026-10-15: “Turbo Conventional”: a fan between a top and a bottom line; fan-assisted top and bottom elements, for light and delicate baking such as pastry and for cooking more than one food without passing on smells.
Bottom heat
Caple calls it “Base Heat”.
Confirmed by:
- Caple — C2601 Sense Premium single oven instruction manual (Oven functions, pp. 47–48), checked 2026-10-15: “Base Heat”: a single line at the bottom; the bottom element only, to cook the underside of food and for slow cooking such as casseroles.
Fan with bottom heat (pizza setting)
Caple calls it “Turbo Base Heat”.
Confirmed by:
- Caple — C2601 Sense Premium single oven instruction manual (Oven functions, pp. 47–48), checked 2026-10-15: “Turbo Base Heat”: a fan with a line below it; the fan circulates the air heated by the lower element, for delicate and slow cooking.
Full grill
Caple calls it “Full Grill”.
Confirmed by:
- Caple — C2601 Sense Premium single oven instruction manual (Oven functions, pp. 47–48), checked 2026-10-15: “Full Grill”: a zigzag across the whole top; the top heating element and the grill element together, for larger quantities such as big steaks or fish, door closed.
Centre or half grill
Caple calls it “Eco Grill”.
Confirmed by:
- Caple — C2601 Sense Premium single oven instruction manual (Oven functions, pp. 47–48), checked 2026-10-15: “Eco Grill”: a short zigzag in the middle of the top; the grill element alone, for small quantities such as bacon or toast, door closed.

Defrost (snowflake and drop)
Caple calls it “Defrost”.
Confirmed by:
- Caple — C2601 Sense Premium single oven instruction manual (Oven functions, pp. 47–48), checked 2026-10-15: “Defrost”: a fan with a small snowflake in the corner; no heat, fan only, so air at room temperature thaws food faster; suggested for frozen desserts.
Not listed for Caple
The Caple sources checked here do not show these symbols from this site, so they are left off this page: Pizza, Intensive heat, Slow cook, Eco fan, Plate warming, Keep warm, Reheat, Dough proving, Steam or added steam, Oven light, Fast preheat, Pyrolytic self-cleaning, Steam cleaning, Child lock, Timer or minute minder, Alarm, Bread baking, Top heat only. That does not mean no Caple oven has them — only that no Caple manual or support page cited here confirms the drawing. If your oven shows one, see all oven symbols by shape.
