Rangemaster oven symbols

9 symbols that Rangemaster itself documents, each in our own drawing, with the Rangemaster name for the mode next to ours. Tap a symbol for what it does, where makes differ and every source.

Check your manual — models differ. Two Rangemaster ovens can carry different sets of symbols, and the same drawing can mean different things on different brands; only your model’s manual says exactly which elements run and how hot.

Rangemaster builds range cookers in Leamington Spa. On the Deluxe 110 dual fuel models checked here the left-hand oven is the multifunction one and the right-hand oven a plain fan oven, so the left function knob carries most of these symbols. Its Browning element (a line along the top only: the top element on its own, for browning cheese-topped dishes that are already hot) is the Top heat only symbol. One Rangemaster setting has no page on this site yet: Rapid Response (marked R: the fan element plus a top element, to preheat faster). Older Classic 110 models have a conventional left oven whose knob shows only a browning position besides the temperatures.

The 9 symbols

Top and bottom heat (conventional)

Rangemaster calls it “Conventional oven”.

Confirmed by:

  • Rangemaster — What does a multifunction oven do?, checked 2026-10-09: “Conventional oven”: a line at the top and one at the bottom; heat from the top and base of the oven, hottest at the top; for cakes, cook in the centre and slightly reduce the temperature.

Fan oven (hot air, true fan)

Rangemaster calls it “Fan oven”.

Confirmed by:

Fan with top and bottom heat (fan-assisted)

Rangemaster calls it “Fan assisted oven”.

Confirmed by:

Bottom heat

Rangemaster calls it “Base heat”.

Confirmed by:

Fan grill (turbo grill, hot-air grilling)

Rangemaster calls it “Fanned grilling”.

Confirmed by:

Defrost (snowflake and drop)

Rangemaster calls it “Defrost”.

Confirmed by:

  • Rangemaster — What does a multifunction oven do?, checked 2026-10-09: “Defrost”: a snowflake with drops under it; the fan moves unheated air, so the food thaws faster without starting to cook; Rangemaster says not to defrost meat or poultry this way.

Child lock (key or padlock)

Rangemaster calls it “Key Lock”.

Confirmed by:

Alarm (bell)

Rangemaster calls it “Minute Minder”.

Confirmed by:

Top heat only (browning element)

Rangemaster calls it “Browning Element”; Rangemaster “The Browning Element”.

Not listed for Rangemaster

The Rangemaster sources checked here do not show these symbols from this site, so they are left off this page: Fan with bottom heat, Pizza, Full grill, Centre or half grill, Intensive heat, Slow cook, Eco fan, Plate warming, Keep warm, Reheat, Dough proving, Steam or added steam, Oven light, Fast preheat, Pyrolytic self-cleaning, Steam cleaning, Timer or minute minder, Bread baking. That does not mean no Rangemaster oven has them — only that no Rangemaster manual or support page cited here confirms the drawing. If your oven shows one, see all oven symbols by shape.

A symbol is listed here only when one of these Rangemaster pages shows it. Each was fetched and checked on the date shown; the names in quotes are the brand’s wording, everything else is ours.
