Every light below is confirmed by one Mitsubishi handbook: the 2023 Outlander manual from Mitsubishi Motors Canada's own site. Its table sorts lamps by colour — red, yellow and 'other' — and it has two lamps called Master warning light, one red and one yellow. Mitsubishi's own names: Active Stability Control [ASC] for stability and traction control, Forward Collision Mitigation [FCM] for automatic emergency braking. The oil pressure lamp, the handbook stresses, is not a low oil level warning: check the level with the dipstick. The engine lamp (MIL) blinking means a misfire: stay under 45 mph (72 km/h), avoid hard acceleration and steep hills. It can also stay on after running out of fuel. This is a North American handbook.

Brake system warning light
Mitsubishi calls it “Brake warning light”.
On with the engine running: stop and check the brake fluid level; have the brake system checked.

Battery / charging warning light
Mitsubishi calls it “Charge warning light”.
On with the engine running: the charging system may not be working — turn the engine off and check the alternator belt; have it serviced immediately.

Parking brake light
Mitsubishi calls it “Electric parking brake warning light (red)”.
On while the parking brake is applied; it goes off when released. Make sure it is off before driving.

Oil pressure warning light (oil can)
Mitsubishi calls it “Engine oil pressure warning light”.
On or blinking with the engine running: oil pressure may be low — stop safely, stop the engine immediately and call a dealer. It is not a low oil level warning.

Seat belt warning light
Mitsubishi calls it “Front seat belt warning light”.
On until the front belts are fastened; above 10 mph (15 km/h) it blinks and a chime sounds for about 95 seconds.

Master warning light (triangle with !)
Mitsubishi calls it “Master warning light”.
Comes on with a message on the multi-information display that says what is wrong. The handbook lists a red and a yellow one.

Airbag warning light
Mitsubishi calls it “SRS airbag warning light”.
Staying on after about 7 seconds, flashing, or not lighting at all: the airbags or pretensioners need servicing and may not work in an accident.

Stability control light (ESC)
Mitsubishi calls it “Active stability control [ASC] warning light”.
Blinks while ASC or traction control is working — the road may be slippery. Staying on: ASC is in fail-safe mode — have it checked.

Stability control off light (ESC OFF)
Mitsubishi calls it “Active stability control [ASC] off indicator light”.
Listed among the yellow lights: ASC is switched off.

ABS warning light (anti-lock brakes)
Mitsubishi calls it “Anti-lock Braking System [ABS] warning light”.
On while driving: ABS may not be working; brakes still work without anti-lock — have it checked.

Forward collision warning light
Mitsubishi calls it “Forward Collision Mitigation System [FCM] OFF warning light”.
On when FCM is set to OFF. If it lights with FCM on, the system may be unavailable.

Power steering warning light (EPS)
Mitsubishi calls it “Electric power steering warning light”.
On with the engine running: power assist stops; steering needs much more effort — have it checked.

Hill descent control light
Mitsubishi calls it “Hill Descent Control system ON indicator light”.
On when hill descent control is activated; blinking while switched on means it is not engaged.

Low tyre pressure light (TPMS)
Mitsubishi calls it “Low tire pressure warning light”.
Low tyre pressure, or a TPMS fault — stop and set the tyres to the recommended cold pressure; it goes off after driving above 16 mph (25 km/h).

Check engine light (engine malfunction)
Mitsubishi calls it “Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL)”.
Steady: an emission control and/or CVT fault — see a dealer (no need to tow). Blinking: a misfire — keep below 45 mph (72 km/h) and avoid hard acceleration.

Auto Hold light
Mitsubishi calls it “Brake Auto Hold indicator light”.
White: Brake Auto Hold is on standby. Green: it is holding the car.

Mitsubishi calls it “High beam indicator light”.
The high beam is on; it goes out when low beam is selected.
