Read this first

Hoover dishwashers show an E and a number or letter on the display, with an alarm. The source is Hoover’s own manual for the H-Dish integrated dishwasher HDI 3DO623D-80; other Hoover models, and Candy dishwashers from the same group, may use a different list. Check your manual — models differ. Haier-branded dishwashers are not covered by this source.

E2 No water

What it means
The dishwasher is getting no water, and the alarm sounds.
Likely cause
The inlet hose (the tap feeding it) is closed.
What you can safely check

Switch off and unplug before checking.

  • Switch the dishwasher off, open the water supply to the inlet hose and start the programme again.

If E2 comes back with the water open, contact Hoover customer service for a technician.

E3 Not draining

What it means
The dishwasher cannot pump the water out, and the alarm sounds.
Likely cause
A bent drain tube, or a clogged siphon or filters.
What you can safely check

Switch off and unplug before checking.

  • Check the drain tube is not bent and the siphon and filters are not clogged.
When to call a technician
If the problem persists, contact Hoover customer service for a technician.

E4 Water leak

What it means
The dishwasher has detected a water leak, and the alarm sounds.

A leak.

A code that is not listed here

Hoover’s manual adds that the dishwasher has an anti-overflow safety device that pumps out any excess water on its own, and that it should not be moved or tilted during a programme. A code not on this page is not in this manual: check your own model’s manual or contact Hoover’s service.
