TCL TV: Status light blinking over and over, TV not responding

What TCL says to do

1. If it blinks repeatedly and the TV is not responding normally, TCL says to restart it: Settings > System > Power > System restart, or unplug the TV for 30 seconds and plug it back in.

Past that, TCL says the TCL Support Team is there to help.

A light like this on other brands

The same colour and blink on another brand’s TV can mean something else.

• Sony: Red LED blinking — Sony lists a red-blinking LED under troubleshooting and asks you to count the flashes: they come in groups with a three-second gap between them, and the count is what Sony Customer Support needs.
• Sony: White LED on or blinking — Normal.
• Sony: Cyan (light blue) LED blinking — Normal, on models with an illumination LED: a phone, tablet or other mobile device is connecting to the TV over the home network.
• Philips: LED flashing over and over, red or white, TV will not start — The TV does not turn on, no Philips logo or menu appears, and the front LED keeps flashing in a repeating pattern, red or white.
• Panasonic: Red LED blinking (Fire TV models) — SOS error detected: Panasonic says the TV has entered shutdown mode to protect itself.
• Panasonic: Orange LED blinking (Fire TV models) — Panasonic gives three reasons: the power cord has just been plugged in or unplugged, panel maintenance may be in progress, or the TV is connecting to a network or updating its network settings.
• Panasonic: Green LED blinking (Fire TV models) — The TV is starting up, or it is waiting for a Bluetooth device to pair.
• Panasonic: Power light flashing, no picture, no remote response (other Panasonic TVs) — Panasonic says a flashing power light, with no picture and no response to the remote, means the TV has encountered some type of internal failure.
