Sony TV: Red LED blinking
Sony lists a red-blinking LED under troubleshooting and asks you to count the flashes: they come in groups with a three-second gap between them, and the count is what Sony Customer Support needs. Sony’s Help Guide does not publish what each count means, so 2, 5 or 6 flashes all get the same steps.
Applies to: Sony BRAVIA Google TV models covered by the 2022 Help Guide (E-180-100-15(1), US English edition). What you see: red, blinking or flashing, over and over.
What Sony says to do
- Sony says to count how many times the LED flashes; the gap between one group of flashes and the next is three seconds.
- Sony says to reboot the TV by disconnecting the AC power cord from the TV for two minutes, then turn the TV on.
If the problem persists, Sony says to disconnect the AC power cord and contact Sony Customer Support with the number of times the LED flashes.
No repair advice of our own. The steps above are only Sony’s, as its page states them; semiatic gives no repair instructions of its own. Nothing here asks you to go inside the TV: anything beyond Sony’s own steps is a job for Sony Customer Support.
