Sony TV light: what each colour and blink means
Sony BRAVIA TVs have one small LED in the centre of the bottom edge of the screen. Depending on the model it is an “illumination LED” (it shows several colours) or an “operational response LED” (mostly white). Red blinking is the one to worry about: Sony asks you to count the flashes, unplug the TV for two minutes and, if it comes back, call Sony with the count. Sony does not publish what each count means.
The LED is in the centre of the bottom edge of the screen. Models with a built-in microphone have a second small LED on the left (voice function LED) or right (built-in MIC LED). Which kind you have shows in Settings > System > LED indicator: an [Illumination LED] option means the illumination LED model.
Red LED blinking
Sony lists a red-blinking LED under troubleshooting and asks you to count the flashes: they come in groups with a three-second gap between them, and the count is what Sony Customer Support needs. Sony’s Help Guide does not publish what each count means, so 2, 5 or 6 flashes all get the same steps.

White LED on or blinking
Normal. Sony’s LED lights or blinks white when the screen is off, while the TV is turning on, when it receives a signal from the remote, and while it updates its software from a USB storage device.

Cyan (light blue) LED blinking
Normal, on models with an illumination LED: a phone, tablet or other mobile device is connecting to the TV over the home network.

Amber LED on
On a model with an illumination LED, amber means the on timer or the sleep timer is set. On a model with an operational response LED and a built-in microphone, amber means “Ok Google” detection is on or the built-in microphone switch is on.

Yellow LED on
“Hey Google” has been heard and the TV is talking to Google’s server. Only on TVs with an illumination LED and a built-in microphone.
