Philips TV light: what each colour and blink means
Philips TVs (made and supported by TP Vision) have one front LED, the standby light, under the middle of the screen. On most models it stays on whenever the TV is plugged in, blinks while the TV loads its software, and flashes over and over when the TV cannot start. Philips’s own support site covers TVs sold outside the USA, Canada and Mexico.
The LED is at the bottom of the front, under the screen. Many Philips TVs have a small joystick or button under the TV or on the back as the only control on the set; Philips’s recovery steps use it.
Standby LED on, TV off
Normal standby. Philips says the front standby LED stays on whenever the TV is connected to the power socket, to show the TV is ready to be switched on from the remote. It cannot be switched off.

LED blinks for a while after plugging in or switching on, then stays on
Loading. After the TV is plugged back in, Philips says the LED blinks while the TV loads its software; once it stops blinking and stays on, the TV is ready to switch on. Many 2015 and 2016 Philips TVs also blink when switched on, for the same reason.

LED flashing over and over, red or white, TV will not start
The TV does not turn on, no Philips logo or menu appears, and the front LED keeps flashing in a repeating pattern, red or white. Philips treats this as a TV that cannot start and gives four steps.

LED off and the TV does nothing (2019 to 2022 models)
On Philips TVs from 2019 to 2022, an LED that stays off while the TV does nothing at all, a TV stuck on the PHILIPS logo, or a TV that keeps rebooting or freezing is what Philips’s One Button Recovery is for.

LED blinking fast for a few seconds after a joystick restart
One Button Recovery has started. Philips says the LED blinks in fast succession for a few seconds when the TV is powered on with the joystick held; the TV then reboots into first installation.
