Panasonic TV light: what each colour and blink means

Panasonic’s North American help site publishes a colour table for the power LED on its Amazon Fire TV models: red, orange and green, each steady or blinking, six states in all. Red blinking is an SOS error. For other Panasonic TVs it has one page for a flashing power light with no picture: an internal failure, with steps and a service line.

The power LED is on the front of the TV, at the bottom edge. The Z95 series also has a separate microphone LED for Alexa.

  1. steady

Red LED on (Fire TV models)

Standby. Panasonic’s table lists a lit red LED as standby.

No step from Panasonic for this state.

  2. blinking

Red LED blinking (Fire TV models)

SOS error detected: Panasonic says the TV has entered shutdown mode to protect itself.

1 step from Panasonic on its page. If the blinking continues, Panasonic says to submit its Repair Support Form.

  3. steady

Orange LED on (Fire TV models)

Function standby: Panasonic says the TV is waiting for panel maintenance or network functions to complete.

No step from Panasonic for this state.

  4. blinking

Orange LED blinking (Fire TV models)

Panasonic gives three reasons: the power cord has just been plugged in or unplugged, panel maintenance may be in progress, or the TV is connecting to a network or updating its network settings.

No step from Panasonic for this state.

  5. steady

Green LED on (Fire TV models)

Power on. Panasonic’s table lists a lit green LED as the TV switched on.

No step from Panasonic for this state.

  6. blinking

Green LED blinking (Fire TV models)

The TV is starting up, or it is waiting for a Bluetooth device to pair.

No step from Panasonic for this state.

  7. blinking

Power light flashing, no picture, no remote response (other Panasonic TVs)

Panasonic says a flashing power light, with no picture and no response to the remote, means the TV has encountered some type of internal failure.

3 steps from Panasonic on its page. If the problem persists, Panasonic says to contact a Panasonic Authorized Service Center.
