EE Smart Hub 6 Plus lights: what each colour means

EE: the name is printed on a sticker on the back of the hub.
Aqua light
Your hub is connected to broadband.
What EE says to do
- If a device can’t get online, move closer to the hub, switch the device off and on, or turn the hub off for two minutes and back on and check the light after five minutes.

Green light
Your hub is starting up.
What EE says to do
- Wait at least three minutes for it to turn solid aqua.
- If it stays green, turn it off with the Power button on the back, wait two minutes, turn it on and wait three minutes.
- Still green: with the hub on, hold the Reset button with a pin for about 20 seconds until the light turns green again, then let go.

Flashing orange light
Your hub is connecting to broadband.
What EE says to do
- Give it at least three minutes; the light turns aqua when the hub is ready.
- If it keeps flashing, check the cables: part fibre or copper, broadband cable from the hub’s Broadband socket to the filter and phone socket; Full Fibre, white cable with red ends from the WAN or 4 socket to the Openreach modem’s Port 1 or LAN1.

Orange light
Your hub isn’t connected to the internet.
What EE says to do
- Turn the hub off with the Power button on the back, wait two minutes, turn it back on.
- If you are new to EE or have moved, check your activation date has passed; check EE’s service status.

White light
Your Connectivity Backup device is in use and the hub is using the mobile network (resilience mode).
EE’s page gives no step for this light.

Red light
There’s a problem somewhere.
What EE says to do
- Turn the hub off, wait two minutes, turn it on and check again after three minutes.
- Check you are using the power supply that came with the hub, that it stands upright and its vents aren’t blocked (overheating).
- If the light still doesn’t turn aqua, reset the hub: hold Reset with a pin for about 20 seconds.

No light
Either the power is off, or the light has been turned off.
What EE says to do
- Check the power cable, the plug and the Power button; the light can also be turned off in the EE app.

Flashing blue light
The WPS button on the side of the hub was pressed: it is waiting for you to press or select WPS on your computer or device.

- Press or select WPS on the device you are connecting.
