Hisense fridge-freezer symbols
The 7 symbols that Hisense’s own fridge-freezer manuals explain, with Hisense’s name for each, what it does on a Hisense, the manual’s own words and the document it comes from. The drawing is ours; tap a symbol for its full page.
The Hisense manual checked here is for the HRCD615TBW, a 615-litre French-door fridge-freezer sold in Australia. It has a touch screen on the door instead of a row of buttons: you tap an icon to switch a function on, and the icon stays lit while it is on. Hisense UK’s website refused our requests again on 2026-10-13 (HTTP 403), so this page uses the manual that Hisense Australia publishes on its own website. UK models may have a different panel, so compare with your own manual.
Makes differ, check your fridge’s manual: the same drawing can mean different things on different brands, and only your model’s manual says exactly what a button does, what temperature it sets and when it switches itself off.
Super cool / fast cool (fridge)
Hisense calls it: Super Cool
Six hours at 2 °C, then back to your own setting. It does not come back on by itself after the power has been off.
“If you want to reduce the time it takes to cool down in the refrigerator, tap on the [Super Cool] icon, the super cool icon lights up and the refrigerator temperature is displayed at 36 ℉ (2 ℃). The Super Cool will automatically turn on for 6 hours and then turn off, and the refrigeration temperature will return to the previous setting.”

Super freeze / fast freeze (snowflakes)
Hisense calls it: Super Freeze
The freezer goes to −24 °C for up to 52 hours, far longer than Super Cool’s 6. Take bottles and cans out first.
“Super Freeze can quickly lower the temperature and freeze food faster than usual … After 52 hours, the Super Freeze will automatically turn off and the freezer temperature will return to the previous setting. … Note: When selecting the Super Freeze function, ensure there are no bottles in the freezer compartment. Bottles and cans may explode.”

Eco mode on a fridge-freezer (leaf or ECO)
Hisense calls it: ECO (energy-saving mode)
Fridge 6 °C and freezer −17 °C until you switch it off. Turning it on also cancels Super Cool and Super Freeze.
“You can press [ECO] to turn the energy-saving mode on or off. When the energy-saving mode is turned on, the button [ECO] light is on. The refrigeration temperature automatically switches to 43 ℉ (6 ℃) and the freezing temperature automatically switches to 1 ℉ (-17 ℃).”

Door-open alarm (open door or bell)
Hisense calls it: Door Alarm
Close the door or tap the message to clear it. The manual does not say how long the door may stay open before it sounds.
“When the door is opened to alarm, the display screen will pop up the door opening alarm prompt, and send out a prompt sound. When the user clicks to know or close the refrigerator door, the alarm and prompt will disappear.”

Ice maker off (ice cubes, crossed or unlit)
Hisense calls it: Ice Maker
Icon lit: making ice. Icon dark: the ice maker is off.
“This button controls the ice maker. … When the [ice maker] icon lights up, it indicates that the ice maker has started working. If you want to turn off the ice maker, touch the [ice maker] button again until the [ice maker] icon turns off.”

Water filter change light
Hisense calls it: Filter icon
Hisense gives both measures: about 1,000 US gallons (about 3,800 litres) or about six months. Press Reset after fitting the new filter.
“After drinking about 1,000 gallons of water (about 6 months after using the filter), the filter icon will alert you to the need to change the filter. … After changing the filter, make sure to press the "Reset" button.”

Child lock or button lock (key or padlock)
Hisense calls it: Child Lock
On this Hisense the lock also blocks the ice and water dispenser, not only the screen.
“When you open the child lock, it will prompt "Activate Child Lock? You will not be able to access ice or water while activated." If the user clicks confirm, it will be turned on and the icon will light up.”

Not in the Hisense manuals checked
The Hisense documents below do not show these symbols from this site, so they are left off this page: One star (*), Two stars (**), Three stars (***), Four stars (one large star and three small), No stars, Chill compartment, No frost / auto defrost, Holiday / vacation mode, Sabbath mode, Showroom / demo mode, Temperature alarm, Temperature zones and the “OK” indicator and Humidity control on the vegetable drawer. That does not mean no Hisense fridge has one, only that the manuals read here do not. If yours shows a symbol not listed, find it by its shape.
