Humidity control on the vegetable drawer
A vent control for the vegetable drawer: closing it keeps moisture in (high humidity), opening it lets moisture out (low humidity).
What the manuals say to do
High humidity for mostly vegetables and for a mixed or small load; low humidity for mostly fruit and for a large load (Bosch). Hisense agrees — high for vegetables, low for fruit — and Liebherr recommends high humidity for loose-leaf lettuce, vegetables and juicy fruit. If condensation forms, wipe it and adjust the slider (Bosch).
What it does not mean
It does not change the temperature of the drawer, and it is not a setting for cold-sensitive produce: Bosch says bananas, pineapple, citrus, cucumbers, tomatoes and potatoes keep best outside the fridge at about +8 to +12 °C.
Makes differ, check your fridge’s manual: the same drawing can mean different things on different brands, and only your model’s manual says exactly what a button does, what temperature it sets and when it switches itself off.

Where makers differ
Hisense slides the control to the left to increase humidity; Liebherr pulls it forward for high and pushes it back for low. Check the drawer’s own marking.
