Eco mode on a fridge-freezer (leaf or ECO)
An energy-saving setting in which the appliance picks warmer temperatures for you — on the Bosch cited, +8 °C in the fridge and −16 °C in the freezer — for times when the doors are opened less often.
What the manuals say to do
Switch it on with the mode button when you use the fridge less — Electrolux suggests periods of less frequent door opening or absence from home. Switch it off to return to your own settings.
What it does not mean
It does not keep the usual temperatures: at +8 °C in the fridge and −16 °C in the freezer (Bosch) both compartments are warmer than their usual targets of +4 °C and −18 °C. It is not the holiday mode either — on Electrolux you must cancel Eco before choosing Holiday.
Makes differ, check your fridge’s manual: the same drawing can mean different things on different brands, and only your model’s manual says exactly what a button does, what temperature it sets and when it switches itself off.

Where makers differ
Electrolux shows “E” in both temperature displays while Eco runs and cancels it if you choose super cool or super freeze; Bosch picks Eco with the mode button and lights an Eco indicator.
