Airplane mode on a CPAP machine

Airplane mode turns off the machine’s radios for a flight. Therapy is unaffected, but no data is sent while it is on, which is the usual reason a provider says a night is missing.

ResMed

  1. ResMed AirSense 10 An icon on the screen

    Airplane Mode icon

    Airplane Mode is on (it is turned on in My Options). ResMed says to use it on a plane, with the water tub empty but inserted: the machine will not work without the tub.

    What ResMed says to do

    1. If your data has not been sent, turn Airplane Mode off.

  2. ResMed AirSense 11 An icon on the screen

    Airplane mode

    The machine is in airplane mode. It is switched on and off from the MORE menu.

    What ResMed says to do

    1. If your data has not been sent or new settings have not arrived, turn Airplane Mode off.

    Airplane mode: Bluetooth on the machine is disabled.

    What ResMed says to do

    1. Press the Bluetooth button for 3 seconds. When the light flashes blue, the machine is ready for pairing.

Philips Respironics

  1. Philips Respironics DreamStation 2 An icon on the screen

    Airplane mode symbol

    Airplane Mode is on. It replaces the cell and Bluetooth symbols while active, and it turns itself off automatically after three days.

    No action is needed. The manual explains how to switch it in the device settings screens.
