“Automatic Off” on a CPAP machine
If the airflow stopped in the night and the screen says “Automatic Off”, the machine turned itself off because it sensed the mask had come off. It is not a fault: the DreamStation 2 manual calls it a feature your home care provider enables. Here is what Philips’ manuals say, machine by machine.

Automatic Off
Therapy ended because of the automatic off function: the mask was removed. A status message, so it clears itself after 30 seconds.

- Put your mask back on, check it fits well, and turn the airflow back on to resume therapy.

Airflow turns off by itself when you take the mask off
If your home care provider has enabled the Automatic Off feature, the machine turns the airflow off when you take off your mask and it recognises inactivity.
The DreamStation 2 manual describes the feature but lists no pop-up message for it. To carry on, put the mask back on and start therapy with the Therapy button.
