What Tesla says to do

1. Tesla says: reduce the vehicle’s charge current setting.
2. Tesla says: if it persists and the car is a Tesla, note the VIN and roughly when the fault happened and contact Tesla; if the car is another make, contact that car’s maker.

A similar light on other chargers

The same colour and movement on another maker’s charger can mean something else entirely.

• Pod Point: Red or flashing red light — There is a fault with your charger.
• Easee: Flashing red after using a key or the app — Charging access was not accepted: the charger did not accept the key, tag or app authorisation used.
• Easee: Flashing red at another time — A charging or safety error: something is preventing charging, for example a high-temperature shutdown.
• Emporia: Wi-Fi light flashing red — Lost its connection to the router.
