KitchenAid’s product-help site has one page per range error code, for the KitchenAid ranges it supports in the United States and Canada. The codes come in two parts, like F3 E0, and pairs with the same first part tend to point at the same area: the F3 pairs below at the temperature sensors, the F5 pairs at the door latch. Every page gives the same first step — cut the power at the circuit breaker for one minute — and names the part that “may” be at fault, which a technician then checks. KitchenAid ovens sold in the UK and Europe are different models with their own manuals; this list is for the North American ranges KitchenAid’s help site covers. Codes are not shared between makes: F3 means something else on a GE or a Frigidaire.

F2 E1 Keypad or user interface — check the grates

What it means
KitchenAid says there may be a problem with the user interface or keypad, the control, or their wiring, and asks first whether the hob grates are fitted correctly.
Likely cause
Hob grates fitted wrongly, or a fault in the keypad, control or wiring.
What you can safely check

Switch off and unplug before checking.

  • When the range is cool, check the grates are fitted properly and sit level: rock each one corner to corner and side to side. If a grate wobbles it may be in backwards — try swapping the grates round, then cycle the power to clear the code.
  • Reset the power: turn off the circuit breaker(s) for one minute, turn them back on, then watch the oven for one minute to make sure the code does not come back, and check the oven works.

A probe not seated in its socket, or not stated.
