Sky Gigafast+ Hub lights: what each colour means

7 light states of the Sky Gigafast+ Hub, from Sky’s own page Lights on your Sky hub explained (choose your hub). It has one light on the front. Sky’s guide offers seven colours for this hub and sends each to the same article as the Sky Max Hub; it does not list slow green flashing or blue for it.

1. White

   You’re all set up: the hub is working and connected to the internet.

   Sky’s page gives no step for this light.

2. Amber

   Your hub is powering up.

   What Sky says to do

   1. It can take a few minutes to start up; the light turns white when it’s connected.

3. Flashing amber

   Your hub is authenticating.

   1. It can take a few minutes to connect; the light turns white when it’s connected.

4. Flashing green

   Your hub is resetting (the Reset button was held for five seconds). Holding it for more than 12 seconds factory-resets the hub.

   What Sky says to do

   1. Don’t disconnect the power while it is doing this.

5. Flashing green and amber

   Your hub is running a software update.

   What Sky says to do

   1. It usually takes about 15 minutes; the light turns white when it’s done. Don’t turn the hub off meanwhile.

6. Red

   It looks like there might be a problem.

   What Sky says to do

   1. Sign in to Sky’s Service Checker to run tests; if it finds a fault it shows you how to fix it.

7. No light / off

   Your hub lights are off.

   What Sky says to do

   1. Switch the hub off at the mains; check the power cable and the plug socket; switch it back on and wait a few minutes for the light to return to white.
