Xbox power supply: Original Xbox One power brick light on
The power supply is getting power. After the reset below, a lit brick with a console that still will not start points to the console, not the brick.
Applies to: Original Xbox One (external power supply). What you see: colour not named by the maker, steady (solid). Where: the power supply brick.
What Microsoft says to do
- Reset first: unplug the power cables from the console, the wall and the power supply, wait 10 seconds, then plug the cable into the wall and the supply only.
- If the light is on, plug the supply into the console and check the light is still on.
- Press the Xbox button on the front of the console.
If something is wrong
If the light stays on but the console will not start, Microsoft says the console needs servicing; in-warranty repairs are requested through Device Support (linked on the page). Out-of-warranty support for the original Xbox One has ended. Microsoft: support.xbox.com
