Hisense hob error codes
13 codes that Hisense publishes for its hobs, each with what it means, the likely cause, what you can safely check and when to call a service engineer. Tap your code:
Hob: do only the checks the maker gives for that code. A built-in hob is wired in, so where a maker says to cut the power, switch it off at the fuse box (circuit breaker); never lift the hob out of the worktop or open it. The electrical connection is for the installer or a qualified electrician, and anything past the maker’s own checks is for the maker’s service engineer. Codes that need one are marked Engineer.
Read this first
Hisense induction hobs show faults as E and a digit, a letter pair such as EU, EL or EF, a C code when a sensor reads too hot, and a flashing u when heating stops. These are from the troubleshooting table of the Hisense HI6442BSCE induction hob manual, which Hisense publishes on the document server of Gorenje, its European appliance maker (partners.gorenje.com). For most faults the manual’s instruction is simply to contact the supplier, and it warns: do not dismantle the hob yourself. We found no Gorenje-badged hob code list, so on a Gorenje hob check its manual — models differ.
u Heating stopped: pan not suitable
- What it means
- Heating is suddenly interrupted and u flashes on the display.
- Likely cause
- The pan is the wrong type or too small for the zone, or the hob has overheated.
- What you can safely check
Hob: do only the checks the maker gives for that code. A built-in hob is wired in, so where a maker says to cut the power, switch it off at the fuse box (circuit breaker); never lift the hob out of the worktop or open it.
- Use the right pot: one made for induction, the size of the zone and centred on it.
- If the hob has overheated, wait until it is back to normal temperature, then press ON/OFF to restart it.
- When to call a service engineer
- If u shows with a suitable pan on a cool hob, contact the supplier.

E1 E2 E7 Temperature sensor failed
- What it means
- Failure of the temperature sensor.
- Likely cause
- A sensor fault under the glass.
- What you can safely check

E3 E4 Power-electronics sensor failed
- What it means
- Failure of the temperature sensor on the IGBT — the power transistors that drive the induction coils.
- Likely cause
- A sensor fault on the power board.
- What you can safely check

EU Display and main board not connected
- What it means
- The connection between the display board and the main board has failed, or the touch-control chip has stopped communicating.
- Likely cause
- An electronics fault.
- What you can safely check

EL EH Mains voltage abnormal
- What it means
- The supply voltage is abnormal.
- Likely cause
- A problem with the electricity supply.
- What you can safely check
Hob: do only the checks the maker gives for that code. A built-in hob is wired in, so where a maker says to cut the power, switch it off at the fuse box (circuit breaker); never lift the hob out of the worktop or open it.
- Check whether your power supply is normal (other appliances working, no power cut).
- Switch the hob on again once the supply is OK.
- When to call a service engineer
- If the supply is normal and the code stays, contact the supplier; a supply fault is for a qualified electrician.

C1 Glass too hot
- What it means
- The temperature sensor of the glass-ceramic plate reads too high.
- Likely cause
- The hob has got too hot.
- What you can safely check

- Restart the hob once it has cooled down.
- When to call a service engineer

C2 Power electronics too hot
- What it means
- The temperature sensor of the IGBT (the power electronics) reads too high.
- Likely cause
- The electronics have got too hot.

- What it means
- Two or more buttons have been triggered for a long time.
- Likely cause
- A spill, a cloth or a pan on the controls.
- What you can safely check

- Clean the control area and clear anything resting on it.
