Hive thermostat: ‘No Signal’ on the thermostat

No Signal
Our drawing: “No Signal”, on a screen thermostat.

The thermostat has lost its connection to the receiver. The Hive app may also show your heating as ‘offline’.

Applies to: Newer Hive thermostats, including touch-screen models and the Hive Thermostat Mini. What you see: words.

What Hive says to do

  1. Take the thermostat off the wall (press the tab on its base, or pull a touch-screen model off its back plate) and bring it to the receiver near your boiler or hot water tank.
  2. Take the batteries out and put them straight back in to restart it, then put it back on the wall; it should show ‘Reconnecting’.
  3. When the room temperature shows, turn the heating on and check the receiver’s ‘status’ and ‘central heating’ lights turn green.
  4. If ‘No Signal’ stays, reset and pair the devices by hand as Hive’s page describes; this erases your heating and hot water schedules.
