Google Nest Wifi Pro lights: what each colour means
9 light states of the Google Nest Wifi Pro, from Google’s own page Wifi device light meanings: Understanding LED indicators. It has one status light on the front; a slow blue pulse, not white, means it is ready for setup.
Solid white
The device is online.
What Google says to do
- Nothing to do: you’re online. The light is on by default and can be turned off in the Google Home app.

Fast pulsing white
The device is booting up, or the device is updating.
What Google says to do
- Wait: booting takes about a minute, after which the light slowly pulses blue to show it is ready for setup. If it is updating, wait for the update to finish.

Slow pulsing blue
The device is ready for setup.

- Use the Google Home app to set up your router.

Fast pulsing blue
Pairing is in progress.

- Wait for the device to complete pairing.

Solid yellow
Router is factory resetting. A solid yellow light during setup also indicates a network error on your device.

- A reset can take up to 10 minutes, after which the device resets itself.

Slow blinking yellow
There’s a network error or WAN connectivity was lost. The Nest Wifi Pro mesh point can show this too.
What Google says to do
- Check that the Ethernet cable is connected to both your router and modem and that both are turned on. You might need to unplug each device and plug it in again.

Fast blinking yellow
The device encountered an error during setup, or you’re holding down the reset button and factory resetting the device.
What Google says to do
- Setup error: wait for the light to pulse blue slowly, then try pairing the device again.
- Reset: keep holding the button; after about 12 seconds the light turns solid yellow, then let go.

Fast blinking red
Something’s wrong: a critical failure.

- Factory reset the router. If the light stays red, contact Google’s customer support.

No light
The router has no power, or it is online and you’ve turned off the status light in the Google Home app.
What Google says to do
- Check the power cable is properly connected to the router and a working wall outlet.
- If the router is already set up, check the light brightness setting in the app.
- Still no light: contact Google’s customer support.
