Google router lights: what each colour means, by model

Google has sold three generations of mesh Wi-Fi: Google Wifi, Nest Wifi (a router plus points that are also smart speakers) and Nest Wifi Pro. Google’s own page warns that light colours are different on each, and says to confirm which Wifi device you own first. Slow pulsing blue means “ready for setup” on a Nest Wifi Pro, but solid blue on a Google Wifi point means it is factory resetting.

No light	Google Nest Wifi Pro: The router has no power, or it is online and you’ve turned off the status light in the Google Home app. Google Nest Wifi router: Router has no power or the light was dimmed in the app. Google Nest Wifi point: Nest Wifi point has no power or the light was dimmed in the app. Google Wifi point: Wifi point has no power or the light was turned off in the app.
Pulsing blue	Google Nest Wifi Pro: The device is ready for setup. Google Nest Wifi point: You’re receiving a call. Google Wifi point: Wifi point is ready for setup.
Pulsing white	Google Nest Wifi Pro: The device is booting up, or the device is updating. Google Nest Wifi router: The device is ready for set up. Google Nest Wifi point: The device is booting up or is ready for set up.
Steady white	Google Nest Wifi Pro: The device is online. Google Nest Wifi router: Router is online and all is well. Google Wifi point: Wifi point is online and all is well.
Steady yellow	Google Nest Wifi Pro: Router is factory resetting. Google Nest Wifi router: Router is factory resetting. Google Nest Wifi point: The device is resetting.
Steady red	Google Nest Wifi router: Something is wrong: a critical failure. Google Nest Wifi point: Point has an issue.
Flashing yellow	Google Nest Wifi Pro: There’s a network error or WAN connectivity was lost. Google Nest Wifi router: You’re holding down the reset button and are factory resetting this device.
Pulsing yellow	Google Nest Wifi router: There is a network error. Google Nest Wifi point: You’re about to factory reset the device.
