Google Wifi point lights: what each colour means
6 light states of the Google Wifi point, from Google’s own page Wifi device light meanings: Understanding LED indicators. It has one light ring round the middle; on the older OnHub (no longer supported since 11 January 2023) the online light is teal.
Solid white
Wifi point is online and all is well.
Google’s page gives no step for this light.

Pulsing blue
Wifi point is ready for setup.
What Google says to do
- Set up the Wifi point in the Google Home app; the light turns solid white once it is online.

Solid blue
Wifi point is factory resetting itself.
What Google says to do
- This can take up to 10 minutes; the point then pulses blue, ready for setup.

Pulsing orange
Wifi point has no internet connection.

- Check that the Ethernet cable is properly connected between your primary Wifi point and your modem.

Pulsing red
Wifi point has an issue.
What Google says to do
- Factory reset the Wifi point. If it keeps pulsing red, contact Google Wifi customer support.

No light
Wifi point has no power or the light was turned off in the app.
What Google says to do
- Check the power cable is properly connected to the point and a working wall outlet.
- If the point is already set up, check the light brightness setting in the app.
- Still no light: contact Google Wifi customer support.
