Sensi thermostat: Solid white or partial display
Sensi ties a solid white or partial display to the “C” wire connection: the thermostat needs 20 to 30 VAC from the system.
Applies to: Sensi Touch and Touch 2 (solid white); all Sensi models (partial display). What you see: a blank screen.
What Sensi says to do
Wiring and power. Sensi ties this, on at least some systems, to the wiring, the power supply or the C wire. The steps here are only Sensi’s own, as its page states them; semiatic gives no wiring instructions of its own.
- Sensi says to power-cycle the thermostat first: pull the cover off; on Smart and Lite remove the batteries until the screen goes blank (replacing them if at 2 bars or less), then refit.
- Sensi says to troubleshoot the “C” wire connection by making sure 20 to 30 VAC is powering the thermostat, following its own “My screen is blank” article.
- Sensi says that if the display is still partial after troubleshooting, reinstall your original thermostat (or a cheaper manual one) so you can control your system, and contact Sensi technical support.
