Sensi thermostat: No Wi-Fi icon in the top-left corner
The thermostat’s Wi-Fi radio is off. Sensi gives two main causes: low batteries (the radio turns off to save power), or a system compatibility or C-wire issue.

What Sensi says to do
Wiring and power. Sensi ties this, on at least some systems, to the wiring, the power supply or the C wire. The steps here are only Sensi’s own, as its page states them; semiatic gives no wiring instructions of its own.
- Sensi says to replace the batteries if the battery indicator is half full (Sensi Lite: if it shows “Low batteries”): pull the face plate off, remove the batteries, let the display go blank, fit 2 fresh AA (Lite: AAA) alkaline batteries and push the face plate back on.
- Sensi says that if the batteries are fine but the Wi-Fi turns off after about two hours, the cause is likely compatibility or the C wire: heat-only, cool-only and heat pump systems need a common wire (C wire) to keep Wi-Fi connected, and Sensi is not designed to run on batteries alone.
- Sensi says your heating and cooling system helps power the thermostat, so check your breakers are on and that drain pipes are not clogged.
