Roborock: what each light, error and message means
A Roborock robot reports a fault by flashing its power light red quickly and speaking a voice prompt with an error number, such as ‘Error 9’. The number tells you which part to check. The meanings here are from the Roborock S6 manual’s troubleshooting table and Roborock’s own Support Center articles for each error.
The S6 manual shows the power light on the button panel on top of the robot. Newer Roborock models (S7, S8, Qrevo, Saros) print their own error tables in their manuals; if your model’s manual gives a different meaning for the same number, the manual wins.
Power light flashing red quickly
An error has happened while the robot was running. It also speaks a voice prompt naming the error number.

Error 1
The spinning laser unit on top of the robot (its distance sensor) is jammed or blocked.

Error 4
A cliff sensor underneath is reporting a drop. It may be dirty, or the robot may really be at an edge or on dark or shag carpet.

Error 5
The main brush is tangled or blocked.

Error 7
A drive wheel is blocked or stuck.

Error 8
The robot is hemmed in or caught by something around it.

Error 9
The robot does not detect the dustbin and filter. Roborock’s article adds that the filter has a magnet on its side that the robot looks for.

Error 10
The filter is wet or clogged.

A fault with the suction fan.

A fault inside the robot’s own system, with no part for you to clean.
