Fisher & Paykel Healthcare CPAP machine icons, messages and lights
Fisher & Paykel Healthcare (F&P) makes the SleepStyle Auto and SleepStyle CPAP. The home screen shows up to four small icons (ThermoSmart tube, Bluetooth, InfoUSB, modem); a line through one, or a gap where it should be, is how the machine says that part is not working. Faults appear as a numbered error code.

MASK LEAK: HIGH
One of the therapy-data screens under My Data. In Day view it says whether the leak from your mask last night was NORMAL or HIGH; Week and Month views give the same verdict as an average over the last 7 or 30 days.

- F&P’s troubleshooting table says a mask that is not fitted correctly causes leaks: check the fit against the mask’s own instructions, or contact your healthcare provider.

Humidity drops (0 to 7)
The humidity level is drawn as a row of drops: 0 is all drops clear, 7 is all drops shaded. Humidity is only in use when the water chamber has water and the level is at least 1 (one drop shaded).
No action is needed; ask your equipment provider which level suits you.

Humidity may have been disabled. F&P says the device is still safe to use and you will still be treated at your prescribed pressure.

- Turn the power off and on at the power supply to restart the device.
- If the error persists or comes back, consult your healthcare provider. Do not try to repair the device yourself.

The tube may not be connected correctly, or there may be an error with the ThermoSmart tube. You are still treated and still get humidity, but it may not be optimal. You may also be using a standard (unheated) tube.
What Fisher & Paykel Healthcare says to do
- Remove the ThermoSmart tube from the device and reconnect it, making sure the electrical connectors click together. When it is connected correctly the icon appears on the home screen.
- If you may be using a standard tube, consult your healthcare provider.

Ramp symbol
Appears when you press and hold Start/Stop for 3 seconds. Ramp gradually increases to your prescribed pressure over a 20-minute period. Holding Start/Stop for 3 seconds again restarts it.
No action is needed.

The modem icon shows the modem is on and working correctly (not available in every country). With a line through it, the modem is turned off or has failed to connect: you are still treated, but your data may not be uploaded to your healthcare provider.

- Remove the InfoUSB from its port and reinsert it. When it is connected correctly the icon appears on the home screen.

Therapy won’t start and the screen is blank
The power cord may not be connected correctly, or there may have been a storm, power cut or power surge.
What Fisher & Paykel Healthcare says to do
- Push the power cord connector firmly into the power supply and into the back of the device.
- Check your circuit breaker or fuse and reset it if needed.
- If the screen still does not come on, return the device to your healthcare provider.
