Spectrum router lights: what each colour means, on every Spectrum hub

Find the light you see in the first column, then read across to your hub. Each meaning is Spectrum’s own wording from that hub’s help page; tap it for the fix. A blank cell means Spectrum’s page for that hub lists no such light.

Spectrum (Charter Communications) publishes a user guide for each WiFi router it supplies, as a PDF on its own document host, and each guide has a status-light table. Its www.spectrum.net support pages served no readable text to a plain fetch, and HTTP 403 in a browser, on 2026-10-13, so the guides are the source here. The WiFi 6 Router’s guide gives its light as “Blue / Green”; the WiFi 6E Router’s light is blue. The same pulsing red means a different thing on each.

Which Spectrum hub do I have?

Spectrum names each router by its WiFi generation: Spectrum WiFi 6 Router, Spectrum WiFi 6E Router. Both have their status light on the front panel and a QR code on the back label. The WiFi 6 Router’s reboot and reset button is on its side panel; the WiFi 6E Router’s is on its back panel. Then pick it to see every light it has, drawn, with Spectrum’s fix.

One light, different meanings on Spectrum hubs

Where Spectrum gives the same main light a different meaning on different hubs. Knowing the colour alone is not enough.

Pulsing red

What is not here

  • Spectrum WiFi 5 Wave 2 Router — Spectrum’s own user guide for it (Version 6) lists three light states only: solid blue, connected to the internet; blinking or pulsing blue, establishing the internet connection; blinking or pulsing red, disconnected from the internet. A router page here needs at least five, so it has none yet. drupal-cms.spectrum.net Checked 2026-10-13.
