Epson ET-2800 and ET-2803 error codes and messages: what each one means

E-01 on the LCD screen

- If the error continues, check for a paper jam.

E-02 on the LCD screen

E-11 on the LCD screen

An ink pad needs to be replaced. Scanning and other non-printing features still work.
What Epson says to do
- Contact Epson for support.
- Epson’s note: the ink pads are not a user-replaceable part. During the standard warranty the exchange of the product or the pads is covered; after it, any Epson authorised service provider can replace them.

E-12 on the LCD screen

I-23 on the LCD screen

The product is showing a PIN code for a wireless (WPS PIN) connection.
What Epson says to do
- Enter the PIN shown on the LCD screen into the router, access point or computer within two minutes. After two minutes it times out, the code changes, and you must enter the new code.

I-31 on the LCD screen

I-60 on the LCD screen

Your computer may not support WSD (Web Services for Devices); Scan to PC (WSD) works only with English versions of Windows 11, 10, 8.x, 7 or Vista.

Close models without a page of their own

- Epson ET-4800 — Its User’s Guide lists the same thirteen LCD codes as the ET-2800, word for word (E-01, E-02, E-11, E-12, W-01, W-11, W-14, I-22, I-23, I-31, I-41, I-60 and Recovery Mode), so the ET-2800 page answers it. files.support.epson.com Checked 2026-09-29.
- Epson ET-2850 — Its guide gives the ET-2800’s codes less two: there is no E-12 or W-14 (the borderless-printing ink pad), E-11 does not mention scanning still working, and to keep printing after W-11 you press OK rather than start.
