What LiftMaster says to do
- LiftMaster says to check the door control’s wires for staples or shorts.
LiftMaster’s page then describes a wire test at the door control and at the opener’s terminals, and says it does not apply to Security+ 2.0 openers.
LiftMaster’s safety line: “Never adjust or loosen the door’s springs, cables, pulleys, or brackets yourself, they’re under extreme tension.” Where a spring, cable or balance problem shows up, its page says to stop and contact a local garage door professional.
