LiftMaster garage door opener: Code 4-5: 4 UP flashes, 5 DOWN flashes
The opener does not recognise the travel module installed in it, usually right after a part was replaced, and the door will not move.
Applies to: LiftMaster and Chamberlain Security+ 2.0 and Security+ 3.0 openers with UP and DOWN arrows; codes 3-5 and 5-5 only on the wall-mounted jackshaft models 8500W/RJO70, 98022/RJO101 and 98032. What you see: the UP and DOWN arrows, 4 UP flashes, then 5 DOWN flashes.

What LiftMaster says to do
- LiftMaster says to find the model number on the label on the opener, look up the correct travel module for that model in the owner’s manual, and fit the correct part if the one installed is wrong.
LiftMaster’s safety line: “Never adjust or loosen the door’s springs, cables, pulleys, or brackets yourself, they’re under extreme tension.” Where a spring, cable or balance problem shows up, its page says to stop and contact a local garage door professional.
