IP rating on a phone or tablet label
The ingress protection code: the first digit is protection against dust and solid objects (up to 6, dust-tight), the second against water (up to 8, continuous immersion at 1 m or more).

Where the regulations differ
The code is the same IEC 60529 system you find on chargers and outdoor lights; the phone regulation adds that it must be tested without a protective cover. The site’s IP-code decoder explains every digit: /electrical/ip-rating/.
