Blink Video Doorbell light: what each colour and pattern means

Blink doorbells use a light on the button and, on newer models, a separate small status light. Red on the button is about setup (blinking: ready to set up; solid: setup failed), blue is recording or live view, and a press shows as blinking white (blinking blue on the 1st gen). Once setup has worked, no light at all is normal.

The button light is the ring around the doorbell button. The Wired Doorbell 2K+, Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) and Battery Doorbell 2K+ also have a small status light; the Video Doorbell (1st Gen) uses the button light for everything.

1. Button light blinking red

   The doorbell is in pairing mode and ready to be set up.
