Arlo doorbell: Solid amber
The doorbell is not getting enough power.
Applies to: Arlo Essential Video Doorbell Wired, during setup. What you see: orange or amber, solid (steady), on the light ring or button.
What Arlo says to do
Wiring and power. Arlo links this light, on at least some models, to the doorbell’s wiring or power. The steps here are only Arlo’s own, as its page states them, including any advice to use a qualified or certified electrician; semiatic gives no wiring instructions of its own.
- Arlo says this doorbell must be connected to a doorbell transformer of 16–24 V AC.
- Arlo says that if your transformer is below that, you should consult an electrician to replace the transformer and chime with ones rated 16–24 V AC and 10 VA.
- Arlo says that if the doorbell still misbehaves on a 16–24 V AC transformer, you might need to turn on bypass mode on its Power Kit, and points to its own article on that.
