TP-Link Deco router lights: what each colour means, by model
TP-Link’s Deco mesh units have one light, and TP-Link’s own page gives a table per model group: most Deco models (the X, XE and BE series) are green when all is well, the Deco M4, E4 and W2400 are white, and the older M5, P7 and M9 Plus have no pulsing states apart from blue. The Deco M3W extender uses separate power, signal and band lights and is not included here.
Which TP-Link Deco router do you have?
The router’s name is on the label on the router itself. Pick it to see every light it has.
- TP-Link Deco X, XE and BE seriesone light on the unit, solid green when it is registered and all is well 8 states
- TP-Link Deco M4, E4 and W2400one light on the unit, solid white (not green) when it is registered and all is well 8 states
- TP-Link Deco M5, P7 and M9 Plusone light on the unit; these older models have no pulsing yellow, green or red 5 states
One light, different meanings on TP-Link Deco routers
Where TP-Link Deco gives the same main light a different meaning on different routers. Knowing the colour alone is not enough.
