eero router lights: what each colour means

eero (an Amazon company) sells mesh Wi-Fi routers direct and in shops; TalkTalk also supplies eeros on some UK plans. Every eero has one status light on the front. eero’s own table below covers every eero except the eero Signal, whose light uses different colours.

9. Flashing yellow or orange

   Power supply problem: usually the eero isn’t getting enough power, from a USB-C cable or adapter eero didn’t approve, a PoE switch or injector that isn’t delivering enough power, or a damaged cable.

   What eero says to do

   1. Check the power cable and adapter for visible damage.
   2. Reconnect the eero using the power adapter that came with it, make sure the cable is firmly plugged in at both ends, and try a different wall outlet. Still flashing yellow: the adapter may need replacing.
   3. PoE-powered eero: check the Ethernet cable, confirm the PoE switch or injector meets the power requirements for your eero model, and try a different PoE port.

10. Solid red

    Offline: the eero isn’t receiving an internet connection. If every eero shows red, the upstream connection (your modem or line) usually isn’t communicating with the Primary eero.

    What eero says to do

    1. Only one wireless eero red: unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in; if the red returns, move it closer to another eero, or connect it to another eero with an Ethernet cable.
    2. Only one wired eero red: plug its Ethernet cable into a laptop; if the laptop gets internet, unplug the eero for 30 seconds, then try another Ethernet port or cable.
    3. Every eero red: eero points to its article “What should I do if my eero network is offline?”.
