Hypervolt home charger: Red light
The charger’s safety system has activated (fault mode) and it is no longer charging your car. One cause Hypervolt names is its PEN-fault detection: it trips if the supply voltage between live and neutral goes above 253 V or below 207 V for more than 5 seconds, and it resumes after 30 seconds of normal voltage, often shown by the standby blue.
Applies to: Hypervolt home chargers (the Help Center’s general LED page). What you see: red, steady or moving not stated by the maker.
What Hypervolt says to do
Electrical safety. Hypervolt ties this light to the power supply, earthing or an electrical fault, or its own steps use the circuit breaker, fuse box, RCD or isolator. The steps here are only Hypervolt’s own, as its page states them; semiatic gives no electrical instructions of its own.
- Hypervolt says: check the status in the Hypervolt app.
- Hypervolt says: try a reboot: turn the charger off using the isolator switch, wait about 5 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Hypervolt says: if the charger stays in fault mode after rebooting, contact Hypervolt customer support.
