Keep the box dry: do not leave it in the rain or on a wet floor.
Who puts it on the box
The sender, when the contents or the packaging itself (cardboard, paper, electronics, powders) are damaged by water.
How to read it
Store it indoors or under cover and off wet ground; bring it in quickly if it is delivered outside. Cardboard loses much of its stacking strength when it gets damp, so a wet box can also collapse under others.
What it does not promise
It does not promise the box is waterproof or that it was kept dry on the way — the mark asks for dry handling, it adds no protection. It does not promise the contents are dangerous when wet; that is the blue class 4.3 label.
A mark on a parcel is the sender’s statement about what is inside and how it should be handled. It is not a certificate that the parcel is packed safely, that anyone handled it as marked, or that your carrier accepts it: for what you may send, read the carrier’s own terms.
