Who puts it on the box

The sender, when that side is weak or the contents would be damaged by the truck’s blade or by tipping the box that way.

How to read it

Use the hand truck on a different side, or lift the box another way. The mark is about this side only, which is why it is printed on the side it applies to.

What it does not promise

It does not promise a hand truck may be used on the other sides, and it says nothing about forklifts — they have their own mark (use no forks).

A mark on a parcel is the sender’s statement about what is inside and how it should be handled. It is not a certificate that the parcel is packed safely, that anyone handled it as marked, or that your carrier accepts it: for what you may send, read the carrier’s own terms.
