Power window lock button
Disables the rear passengers' window switches so that only the driver can open or close the rear windows.
What pressing it does
Pressing it deactivates the switches in the rear doors. The driver's switches still work every window. Hyundai's Tucson manual adds that the front passenger's switch still works its own window — and that, on the Tucson, with the window lock on the rear passengers cannot open the rear doors either. SEAT's Ateca calls it the safety switch on the driver's door: pressed, the rear-door buttons are deactivated.
Check your car's manual: makes and models differ in what a button does, which positions a switch has and whether it works with the engine off, and your owner's manual is the authority for your car.

What to check in your car's manual
Whether your window lock also locks the rear door handles (it does on Hyundai's Tucson, not on SEAT's Ateca, which has separate mechanical child locks), and how the button shows that it is on.
Where makes differ
Hyundai's Tucson ties the rear door opening to the window lock; SEAT's Ateca keeps them separate, with a key-operated childproof lock in each rear door edge. UN R121 gives two alternative drawings for this control, both a crossed-out window.

UN Regulation No. 121 (01 series), location and identification of hand controls, tell-tales and indicators: Cars (M) and light goods vehicles (N1) approved under the UN 1958 Agreement, which includes the EU, UK and Japan. Paragraph 5.2.1: where fitted, a control listed in the table is identified by the symbol in its column 2; note 2 says the symbols are substantially identical to those of ISO 2575:2004.
Good to know
- Both manuals say to keep the rear windows locked out when children travel in the back; the Hyundai manual says unintentional window operation by a child can cause serious injury.
