Display light on/off
Turns the numbers and lamps on the indoor unit off (or back on), so they do not light a dark bedroom.
What pressing it does
Press once to turn the display off and again to turn it on. Samsung relights it for 5 seconds when you press any button; Midea’s LED button, held for 5 seconds, switches the display between set and room temperature on some units.
What it does not do
It does not switch the air conditioner off or change how it runs: only the display lights go out.
Makes differ, check your unit’s manual: the same drawing can mean different things on different brands, and only your model’s manual says exactly what a button does and which modes it works in.

Where makers differ
Mitsubishi Electric has no separate light button on the MSZ-LN; its NIGHT MODE dims the lamp, mutes the beep and lowers the outdoor unit’s noise together.
