Extra rinse
Adds one or more rinses to the programme, or rinses with more water, to take out more detergent.
What it is for
Getting more detergent out of a load. It adds time and water. Beko builds an additional rinse into its Baby+Toddler programme, which it recommends for baby clothes and clothes worn by allergic people.
Makes differ, check your machine’s manual: the same drawing can mean different things on different brands, and only your model’s manual says exactly what a programme does, how hot and how long.

Where makes differ
Samsung draws a sink with a plus; Bosch a tub of water with a plus and allows up to three extra rinses; Beko’s Extra Rinse (“F3”) washes and rinses with “plenty of water” instead of adding a cycle.
Often confused with
On a dial: a rinse-only programme with no detergent wash. On a display or phase bar: the machine is rinsing now. On a button: sets how many rinses.
