Universal Security Instruments (USI) alarm signals: beeps, chirps and lights
Universal Security Instruments (USI) documents its alarms one model at a time in its online help centre, and the model guides do not all agree: on the AMIC1510SB 3-in-1 alarm a chirp every 60 seconds means end of life, while the USI/SMCO/10YR/V guide gives end of life as two chirps every 60 seconds. On the 3-in-1 alarms, three beeps and a pause is smoke and four beeps and a pause is carbon monoxide. Check your model number against the model named under each signal.
If it is sounding a full alarm: the maker’s emergency instruction
Smoke alarm
USI: always evacuate immediately if the alarm sounds, and call emergency services. Only once you are sure there is no fire: the Silence button quiets a smoke alarm for 8–12 minutes, and it sounds again if smoke is still there.
From Troubleshooting Guide for AMIC1510SB and Troubleshooting Guide for USI/SMCO/10YR/V.
Carbon monoxide alarm
USI: if the CO alarm goes off, immediately move everyone to a well-ventilated area with fresh air, and call emergency services. Do not unplug or move the alarm when it sounds: leave it in place and get to safety first. If responders later find no carbon monoxide, USI says the alarm did detect it — fresh air from open doors and windows may have cleared it, or it was a short spike.

One chirp every 60 seconds (sealed 10-year battery alarms)
End of life · smoke
End of life. On the AMIC1510SB and AMIC3511SB the battery is sealed in, so a chirp every 60 seconds means the alarm itself has to be replaced. (USI’s USI/SMCO/10YR/V guide gives its end-of-life warning as two chirps every 60 seconds instead.)
