Hekatron alarm signals: beeps, chirps and lights
Hekatron, a German maker, documents the signals of its Genius smoke alarms in German; the wording here is our close translation. The current Genius Plus and Plus X flash their test button green every 48 seconds to say all is well; the older Genius H flashes a small red light at the same rhythm. Both switch off or dim their light and hold back fault beeps at night (Genius Plus 21:00–07:00, Genius H 22:00–06:00), but a real alarm always sounds.
If it is sounding a full alarm: the maker’s emergency instruction
Smoke alarm
Hekatron: warn the people you live with. Leave the room or the building at once, closing every door behind you on your way out to slow the spread of smoke and fire. Call the fire brigade (emergency number 112) only once you are safe. Fight the fire yourself only if that does not put you in danger.
The Hekatron alarm on these pages senses smoke only. For a carbon monoxide alarm, follow its own maker’s instruction.
Every Hekatron signal we could source, side by side
9 signals. Tap what it means to jump to the drawing, Hekatron’s steps and the source. If your alarm’s pattern is not exactly one of these, check the manual for your model: Hekatron models do not all use the same signals.
