Where this symbol comes from
ISO 3758 stops at two dots. Three dots only exists in the North American system, where the scale is one dot low (55 °C), two dots medium (65 °C), three dots high (75 °C).
Often confused with
Tumble drying is fine at the normal heat setting, with a normal load. GINETEX gives 80 °C as the normal drying temperature.
