Iron at low temperature
Iron only at a low setting, soleplate no hotter than 120 °C (GINETEX, current ISO 3758) — the acrylic / nylon / acetate setting. GINETEX advises caution with steam at this level.

Set the iron to • (synthetics), preferably without steam, and use a pressing cloth or iron inside out on shiny fabric.

The North American guide sets one dot at 110 °C (230 °F).
Often confused with
Iron at a low setting (soleplate up to 120 °C) with the steam switched off. The crossed-out steam jets under the iron are what separate it from the plain one-dot symbol.
